#7: Mince Pie
Mince pies are similar to Christmas Puddings as they were originally filled with different kinds of meat, such as lamb. There are two types of mince pies: a fruit mince pie, or a beef mince pie. They are made in an oval shape, to represent the manger in which Jesus was born, and the top representing the clothes in which Jesus wore as a baby.
During the Stuart and Georgian times, mince pies were highly valued during Christmas. Extremely rich people liked to show off at their Christmas parties by presenting various mince pies in different shapes, such as stars, crescents, hearts and flowers. Mince pies were extremely expensive and could only be afforded by the affluent.
